The Best Thing We Ate This Weekend: Ricotta Macaroni at Cookshop


The only thing better than mac 'n' cheese is high-end mac 'n' cheese, which was confirmed on a weekend visit to Chelsea's Cookshop. The always-packed restaurant turns out a rotating selection of super seasonal fare (witness the ramp pizza) that offers a prime reason to stray from your stroll on the High Line and head here for a bite.

Our favorite dish was the semolina macaroni that was slathered with sheep's milk ricotta and served with fava beans, dandelion greens and other fresh herbs. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the combo of the creamy sauce and fresh sprigs of green was kind of like the weekend itself: the perfect bridge between winter and spring.
