The Smile is one of those places that seems like it was built for brunch. The hodgepodge of wooden chairs, friendly staff and menu of inexpensive fare gives off a coffee-shop vibe that sits well with dishes like eggs Benedict, baguette French toast and a grilled cheese with onion and tomato jam. The food was solid, but it was one of the brunch cocktails that really brought a smile to our face.
This joint's version of a Salty Dog used vodka that was house-infused with grapefruit, which is about all it took to make this one of the best versions of the tart libation that we've ever encountered. The fresh juice and chunky sea salt on the rim had us forsaking our usual Bloody Mary and reaching for another one of these.
