The Upper East Side's Arlington Club is good for a few things - 1. meeting a cougar 2. finding yourself a married investment banker and 3. scoring some amazing mac & cheese. Well, in all fairness, the mac & cheese isn't the only superlative item on Laurent Tourondel's steak- and sushi-heavy menu. The Potatoes "Arlington," which are thinly sliced and lightly fried in clarified butter are pretty raveworthy as well, not to mention the crudos, steaks and salads. But this mac & cheese is seriously transcendent - it features large pasta noodles which are uniquely served standing up in the creamy smoked Gouda sauce. Hello, lover.
