Thai New Year Feast at Circles in Northern Liberties

The traditional Thai New Year is known as the Songkran Festival, and it takes place every April. Chef Alex Boonphaya of Circles has been preparing for this celebration for months, and this weekend he’ll offer a special eight-course feast made up of dishes created in collaboration with five other Philly chefs.

Guests can stop by the Northern Liberties BYO to partake in a $50 prix fixe with plates created by George Sabatino (Morgan’s Pier), John Taus (The Corner), Jennifer Choplin (SoWe), Sean Magee (Time) and Jeffrey Power (Dettera) and Boonphaya himself, including a banana s’more spring roll for dessert. The full menu is below, and do note that there’s also a vegetarian option.

If you can’t make it in on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, consider heading over on Thursday, when the collaboration dinner with Magee takes place (the other chefs’ collab dinners happened over the past several weeks). This is a six-course deal offered for just $35 per person. Call for reservations (267-687-1309).
