Dodger Stadium Taste Test: New Hot Dogs, Burgers, Tacos and More

Bacon-wrapped dog at Dodger Stadium
In case you've been living under a rock, Dodger Stadium had a $100 million face-lift for the 2013 season, and along with all the huge new bathrooms, freshened-up seats and mega scoreboards, you'll find some new things to eat while cheering on the Boys in Blue. Don't worry, there are still Dodger Dogs, but now also Danger Dogs, or at least a cleaned-up version of the bacon-wrapped hot dogs we've only eaten curbside, carnitas tacos, vegetarian hot dogs and salads, plus frozen margaritas and new beers to drink.

Most of the new menu items are only available at two new concession stands, LA Taqueria and Elysian Park Grill, both on the Reserve level near Sections 31, 25 and 27. You'll find eats that pay homage to our hometown, like a blue-cheese burger and, eventually, "extreme loaded" hot dogs to welcome visiting teams (i.e. Chicago dogs, Philly dogs, etc.). But with all the other concession stands selling traditional suds and snacks throughout the ballpark, is it worth schlepping all the way up there for a fish taco? We road-tested a few new items on opening day to find out.

  1. So which "new beers" are on the menu? That was the real draw of the article for me and you totally duffed it.

  2. I had a Dodger Dog on opening day and thought that it was almost inedible. The hot dogs at Costco are much better and only cost $1.50. Too bad you can't bring your own to the game.
