Restaurant Prices Rise by 6% in 6 Months

According to Horizons’ latest biannual Menurama research, which tracks menu changes across pubs, chains and restaurants in Britain, prices have risen an astonishing 6% in the past six months.

The average price of a starter (£5.59), main course (£10.62) and dessert (£4.20), means that a meal for two including a £15 bottle of wine will cost, on average, £55.82. That is roughly £60 with a tip. And this for an entirely average meal - nothing special.

To soften the blow, here's a look back at some cheap eats in Maida Vale and Mayfair
