Photo of the Day: Spice Alley Colors

If you recently walked through the Sunday Hollywood Farmers' Market near the corner of Selma and Cahuenga and smelled something pungent and peppery in the air, you probably walked right past the new Spice Alley and didn't even know it. A slew of herb, spice, hot sauce and salt companies sets up tables each week in EaCa Alley, the walkway behind St. Felix, Kitchen 24, Berlin Currywurst and other shops, bars and restaurants between Selma and Hollywood. We just loved the eye-catching and olfactory display from World Flavorz Spice & Tea, where you're encouraged to pick up a spoon and sniff (the lime ginger salt was dynamite on a piece of cod we bought at one of the other market stalls). There were also specials, like $2 tacos, at La Velvet Margarita Cantina, with tables set up for quick bites. Most people sort of stopped at the spice table, but it's worth moving in for samples and snacks.

  1. It looks gorgeous, just reminds me "Holi" festival. what a fantastic variety though!

  2. The most delicious spices, best jerk sauce by Jabberwocky Foods, amazing mole! Pickles, chocolate, and much more!
