Michael Chiarello Divulges Coqueta's Opening Date and Menu

Get ready to raise a glass of Rioja at Michael Chiarello's Coqueta
As we correctly predicted, Coqueta, Michael Chiarello’s forthcoming Spanish-inspired restaurant on San Francisco’s Embarcadero waterfront  (Pier 5) will indeed be opening mid-April, a bit ahead of schedule. Chiarello and friends confirms in The Scoop that the restaurant is slated to open on Saturday April 13. He’s also released a preliminary copy of the opening menu (see here), the lion's share of which include hot and cold small plates (sliced cured meats, shellfish escabeche), bocadillos (pan con tomate, house-cured chorizo with manchego), along with a handful of raciones, or larger-size dishes (such as “gaucho”-style bone-in ribeye and stuffed whole branzino) meant to be shared family-style at the table. The restaurant began accepting reservations this morning online, but all that's left are a limited number of 5 PM slots.
