800 Degrees, the build-your-own pizza chain, is expanding with a new take-out annex in Westwood and locations planned for Santa Monica, LAX and Vegas. After a recent $7 million dollar injection, you'll start seeing as many 800 Degrees as Umami Burgers: The brand plans to open 10 more all over Southern California by the end of 2014. They're looking at you, Hollywood, Studio City, Downtown, Marina del Rey, Pasadena, Orange County and San Diego.
We called it last summer. It will be a race to see who can open the most quick-serve pizza joints in town: Blaze, which is already rocking in Pasadena, plans to open 36 more around the country, including New York City. And PizzaRev just got a boost from Buffalo Wild Wings and is revving up to open more locations too. We'll have more customizable pizzas than the eye can see.
