first meal in Philly, but now they can also plan a stop in New Jersey. This summer, the chef will open The Farm and Fisherman Tavern and Market in Cherry Hill, a 100-seat restaurant and retail space that builds on the concepts that made his Wash West BYO, The Farm and Fisherman, so successful.
Lawler is drawing on relationships with butchers, bakers, farmers, coffee roasters, fromagers and other artisans to stock the market. Sit-down guests at the relaxed, neighborhood dining room will also get to enjoy all this sustainable, seasonal, local bounty. Expect house-cured salumi, small plates, snacks, entrees and family-style dishes. Plus, NJ gets something Philly doesn’t: Lawler’s food along with liquor. The bar will feature craft beers, small-production wines and balanced cocktails.
The location, 1442 East Route 70, is just west of the I-295 exit on the Marlton Pike, and the space is currently Andreotti’s Viennese Cafe. Lawler hasn’t yet set a target date for launch.
