Rubinstein was in Philly today, checking on the flow of the space and chatting with manager Amy Hattemer, who was also supervising the immediately busy espresso spouts. (He also managed to score himself a dozen Federal Donuts fancies - he pronounced the chocolate peanut butter “weird, but good” - and several variations of chicken.)
While the cafe’s full complement of coffee drinks is ready to go (from espresso to cortado to latte to pour over), the pastries and sandwiches are still being filled out. A small assortment of croissants, scones and muffins was ready for sale when we stopped in. Expect more soon, and also look for the seats in the lobby of the office building next door (215-278-2454).
