Hill Tavern Owners to Open Similar Concept in Allston

Cafe Brazil is closed and in its place will be a new restaurant.
A new restaurant, similar to The Hill Tavern in Boston, is headed for Allston this summer, according to a Boston.com report. The new place, yet to be named, will open at 421 Cambridge St., the former home to the longstanding Café Brazil.

Co-owner of the new place, Peter Culpo, said he wants it to be “A place with good-tasting food. Not too expensive. And a great beer selection.” Culpo will operate the business with his nephew, Joshua Culpo and business partners Mark Murphy and Justin Dalton-Ameen.

Culpo co-owns The Hill Tavern with Murphy; he also operates Woody's Grill and Tap in the Fenway, and he is a partner in the Parish Cafe restaurants located in the Back Bay and the South End.

Not bad for publicity: Culpo’s daughter, Olivia Culpo, is the newly crowned Miss Universe.
