High Line Hotel Will House Intelligentsia's First East Coast Coffee Bar

Intelligentsia sells its coffee to some of the Big Apple's best restaurants (hey, Eleven Madison) and coffee shops, but there still isn't a stand alone coffee shop where you can go and check out their offerings a la Blue Bottle or Stumptown. Well, that's about to change when the roasters open their first-ever East Coast outpost in the spankin' new High Line Hotel next month. The Chelsea lodging is in the landmarked building that used to serve as the housing for the General Theological Seminary, the castle-like brick buildings that sprawl across 20th Street near 10th Avenue.

The coffee bar component opens on May 13 - you'll be able to score a cup o' joe from a zinc bar in the hotel's lobby, and a courtyard with cafe seating will open along 10th Avenue later this summer. Baked goods will be on offer from Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery when the hotel opens at 180 Tenth Ave. We're not sure what the other food and beverage offerings will be at the property, but we have heard some rumors about cocktails available at a courtyard bar. Yes, please.
