First Meal: Erin O’Shea of Percy Street Barbecue

We’re asking top Philly food folk where they’d take a visitor for their first meal in Philadelphia. We ran into Percy Street Barbecue chef-owner Erin O’Shea while snacking on the new lamb ribs at her South Street restaurant last week. We hit up the Maryland native and former Virginia resident for her picks on showing off the city to someone from the South.

Zagat: You have friend visiting from the South who's never been to Philadelphia before. Where do you take them for their first meal in Philly, and what do you suggest they try there?

Erin O’Shea: I'd be excited to show them some of the great ethnic spots here in Philly. We would definitely hit Pho 75 for a taste of great Vietnamese (I get the No. 10 with the meat on top). Also Primo Tacos, a fantastic taqueria just below Ninth and Washington - it was a former pizzeria and they never changed the sign, so you might miss it if you're not in the know. They serve until 3 AM; ask for the campenanos. We’d also go to Zahav for the lamb and hummus. Now I'm hungry.
