First Bite: SmokeLine, From BrisketTown Founder, Now Open on High Line

Daniel Delaney, center
There's a new barbecue stand on the High Line, courtesy of Daniel Delaney of Williamburg's super-popular BrisketTown, and even though it wasn't quite warm enough outside to fully enjoy alfresco dining, carnivores came out to gorge at the stand, which is located at West 15th Street. There are a number of menu items that aren't served at the location in the 'Burg, including a sandwich dubbed The Mess, a combo of grilled Vermont cheese, brisket, pork, pickled onions and chili sauce served on a buttered roll (get a picture of that bad boy below the jump). There are other Central Texas-style barbecue sandwiches, along with a made-to-order soda bar and a boatload of pie.

Other gut-bombs include a whole family feast dubbed the trough that will score you ribs, a pound of brisket and sides for $60. The stand will be open daily through October from 11 AM to 9 PM.
