Earth Day Becomes Earth Week for Some Restos

The Fireplace
Earth Day is under way in Boston, with several places celebrating throughout the week. Beginning today through April 28, Beacon Hill Bistro is offering a special four-course prix fixe menu of locally procured and raised ingredients from recipes inspired by the Chefs Collaborative Cookbook. The dinner begins with an amuse bouche, starts with a beet terrine or classic Caesar salad; offers seared Scituate scallops or an assiette of Concord rabbit as entrees; and a citrus roulade, or goat’s milk panna cotta for dessert. The menu is available all week for dinner ($45 per person; 617-723-7575).

The Fireplace in Brookline is also offering à la carte specials all week that give a nod to the season and sustainability of locally sourced ingredients. Sample dishes include foraged mushrooms and fava bean ragu; dandelion green and spinach salad; spring chicken pot pie made from Misty Knoll chicken; and strawberry rhubarb crisp with vanilla bean ice cream (prices range: $7-$31; 617-975-1900).
