Does the Bay Area Have the Best Pastry Chef in the West?

Francis Ang, pastry chef at Fifth Floor
How sweet are you on our local pastry chefs? It’s time to let the editors of Food & Wine know. The magazine is holding an online contest to determine "The People’s Best New Pastry Chef" in the West, Central and East Coast regions based on a list of 50 nominees culled by national journalists and chefs.

Six San Francisco Bay Area-based pastry chefs are representing the West Coast, including Zagat’s own 30 Under 30 Francis Ang (Fifth Floor). Others on local talent include Matthew Tinder (Coi, Plum), Laura Cronin (Perbacco), Jessica Entzel (Morimoto Napa), Robin Kloess (Incanto) and Stephanie Prida (Manresa). To show your civic pride, go online and vote. Voting is live today through April 8. The winners will be announced on April 9 and be featured in the magazine’s July issue.

Speaking of pastry, what are you favorite iconic desserts in the Bay Area? Tell us in the comments below.
