Danny Meyer on Shake Shack Expansion Versus Fine Dining Projects

Danny Meyer and chef Michael Romano dropped by our office today to discuss their new book, Family Table, but of course the topic of Shake Shack's most recent Las Vegas development also came up. When asked about the direction Union Square Hospitality Group is going in (casual versus fine dining), the famous restaurateur had this to say:

"Shake Shack has always been expanding. We have one team that only thinks about Shake Shack, and then the folks that think about fine dining, who have been doing so more than ever. We're not a company that thinks 'either/or' - we're a company that thinks 'and.'"

So rest easy, fine-dining fans - the restaurants you love aren't going anywhere.
