Coming Soon: Meat Liquor's Anti-Cookbook

From their humble beginnings as street-food van Meat Wagon in 2009, founders Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins have gone on to gain national recognition for their three London burger joints (Meat Liquor, Meat Mission, Meat Market).

In November the self-proclaimed 'bad boys of the restaurant industry' will launch their first book, The MeatLiquor Chronicles: Chapter and Verse, and while it will include some recipes, they don't want you to call it a cookbook. In fact, Scott and Yianni said of their publishing deal with Faber & Faber, ‘Faber don’t do cookbooks. Nor do we’.

Instead, this will be a story and picture book with comments from other food writers, playlists from the likes of Huey Morgan and Gizzi Erskine, recipes from Jose Pizarro (José) and Ross Shonhan (Bone Daddies) and cocktails from Experimental Cocktail Club.

They are also crowd-sourcing material for the book, so if you have any photographs, anecdotes or tattooed evidence of a good night at any of their restaurants, you're invited to email them to meatliquor@faber.co.uk with ‘MEATliquor’ as the subject.
