Coffee News: Intelligentsia Logan Square Opens and Bridgeport Plans Expansion

After much anticipation, Intelligentsia’s newest location opened today in Logan Square adjacent to the Logan Theater. The space features a rectangular coffee bar with soda-shop-style seating and booths at the front of the space. The coffee bar doubles as a small retail shop with bags of beans, mugs and roasting equipment for sale. New to this location is the availability of pastries from Floriole.

In a less bustling part of town, Bridgeport Coffeehouse announced its second location at the Roosevelt Collection next to the entrance of the Showplace ICON theatre. The space is scheduled to open later this year with indoor and outdoor seating, locally roasted coffee, pastries and gourmet sandwiches.

If all this coffee talk left you with a need to caffeine, stop by the first ever Chicago Roaster Jam. It is being held tonight at Counter Culture. Coffee from 10 local roasters will be brewed, sampled and discussed during a panel led by Half Wit Coffee, Passion House Coffee Roasters along with New Gotham. The event is free.
