Cheu Noodle Bar. If you’re planning to go check out Ben Puchowitz’ Jewish-Asian cooking (seriously, there’s a pho with brisket and matzoh balls...), we just got an update on open hours. The Wash West spot will be open 4-11 PM Friday-Saturday and 4-10 PM Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (closed Tuesdays). Since there’s no liquor license yet, Cheu is currently BYO.
If you do stop in, don’t miss the buns, which are baked in house and are what Puchowitz calls “a cross between Chinese steamed buns and English muffins." For $7, you can choose two - pictured above are the burger, complete with cheese and a pickle, and the pork belly (our favorite). There’s also a mung bean version for the veg-heads. Lunch will be introduced soon, so stay tuned (267-639-4136).
