Burke’s Bacon Bar Planned for The James Hotel

Had enough bacon yet? We hope the answer is no, because David Burke (David Burke’s Primehouse) will open Burke’s Bacon Bar, an upscale sandwich shop in The James hotel. The shop is part of a massive renovation plan scheduled for The James Chicago this summer. Renovations will include a new lobby, bar and wine cellar and that porky sandwich shop, as part of an extension to the existing restaurant.

Burke is not done; the chef and restaurateur will open his second Chicago property across from Millennium Park in a new Hotel Indigo. The concept is farm-to-table, and will serve dishes such as roast duck, chicken and fish, as well as salami, prosciutto and other meats cured onsite, according to Chicago Real Estate Daily. The restaurant will seat 200 in a dining room, basement lounge and wine room. It will serve breakfast, lunch dinner and also provide food for a rooftop bar. The space is scheduled to open in May or June of 2014, after a $20 million renovation is completed on the 101-year-old building set to house the hotel.

  1. I'm curious for your next post. Excellent post. Keep writing such kind of information on your blog. I'm amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog that's both equally educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is an issue that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something relating to this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Wishing you best of luck..
