Box Office: Key Ingredient Cook-Off and Half Acre's Fifth Birthday Party

Under the radar, Alpine cuisine restaurant, Table, Donkey, Stick will host its first beer dinner on April 21 with Pipeworks. Courses include Roasted pork belly with a French saison and lamb loin paired with a barley wine. Tickets cost $60 and reservations can be made online.

Key Ingredient
For the past three years there has been a game of pass the buck going on among a few of the cities best chefs. It’s known as the Reader’s Key Ingredient Challenge and involved one chef challenging another to cook with an unusual ingredient. Now, 26 of these chefs gather for an epic cook-off using five of the odd ingredients. Tickets for the May 3 event cost $65 and can be purchased online.

Champagne Dinner
Publican Quality Meats welcomes wine expert Peter Wasserman for a four course champagne dinner on May 8. Elegant dishes such as burgundy snails and porchini-rubbed steak will be paired with select glasses of Champagne. For reservations email grace@publicanqualitymeats.com.

5 Years of Beer
Join Half Acre Beer Company when it celebrates its fifth years of canning beer for Chicago. There will be beer and food and foolishness in the Ravenswood Billboard Factory. Online tickets sales start at 10 AM, and they cost $65. The event is in conjunction with Chicago Craft Beer Week.
