Elf Cafe, the teensy vegetarian restaurant that could, has: The beer and wine license it's been waiting for since last fall has finally come through, canceling out the beloved BYO policy. The Echo Park spot, known for amazing kale salads, vegan fondue and Moroccan vegetable tagine, started serving beer and organic sangria a few days ago and is adding a full wine menu as we speak. This is a great step for the restaurant, which is still hoping to expand next door. The restaurant opens for dinner tonight at 6 PM.
Update: If you bring your own wine, a $5 corkage fee will be honored through Friday, April 26; after, it will be $15. If you bring a bottle from Silverlake Wine, the corkage is always $5.
