Austin Food & Wine Festival Is THIS WEEKEND!

We’ve been counting down to the Austin Food & Wine Festival, and the day has finally come! Tonight the second installation of the annual festival starts with the Taste of Texas kickoff event, where “an all-star lineup of talent from the Texas culinary scene will be serving up dishes that reflect their signature style.” Catch live music by the Delta Spirit and Whiskey Shivers too.

On Saturday chefs from around Texas and a few national outliers will serve their interpretations of tacos at the Rock Your Taco event. Uchi and Uchiko’s Tyson Cole won last year’s competition with a cinnamon-laced pork jowl and black lime treat with a Moo Shu wrapper in lieu of a tortilla.

Head back to Butler Park on Saturday and Sunday for demos from chefs like Tim Love as well as the grand tasting tent, which features 40 local artisans and about 50 beverages. However, be warned that last year was a bit of a stampede, so come with your kneepads already on and elbows at the ready. 

Tickets come in two price ranges, the “taste pass” for $250 or the “savor pass” for $850.
