8 Must-Try Grilled Cheeses in LA

April is National Grilled Cheese month, with Grilled Cheese Day landing on April 12, but we really don't need a fake food holiday to celebrate all things cheesy. The comforting classic is good when it's as simple as two slices of bread and a piece of yellow cheese or stuffed full of fancy cheeses, bacon, avocado or fruits. Now, we won’t split hairs on whether a panini-pressed cheese sandwich isn’t a proper grilled cheese - it is. As long as the bread is toasted and the cheese nice and melty, it's fair game. Here are eight delicious sandwiches you should try now. We want to hear your favorites too - drop them in the comments.

  1. Sorry, there's only one grilled cheese on the list, all the others are melts. I thought a company that rates restaurants would know better.

  3. Wow. Yes, I took liberties with what a "grilled" cheese is. Things with melted cheese fall under 'grilled cheese' to me. Almost everyone that eats them probably calls them grilled cheese, too, whether made on a grill, in a pan, a panini press or with an iron on an ironing board.
