7 Delicious Ways to Celebrate Earth Day: Ice Cream "Mud," Eco Beer Crawls and More

Earth Day isn't just a day, it should be a way of life. Or at least a weekend (week or month) packed with events where chefs feed you well, breweries launch new beers and we all feel good about what we put into our mouths. Below, a slew of fun and delicious ways to do some good this weekend and beyond.

Earth Pie at Ice-Cream Lab
The new Beverly Hills shop - where ice cream meets science - has a special flavor for Earth Day, available through Monday, April 22. Earth Pie is organic coffee ice cream that's frozen for you on the spot, mixed with Oreos, topped with chocolate fudge, "mud" crumbles (we're guessing Oreos) and a gummy worm. You know, for the kids and kids-at-heart. Ice-Cream Lab is open noon to midnight this weekend (9461 S. Santa Monica Blvd.; 310-795-6505).

Smart Car Pop-Up Store at Santa Monica Place
This is more than just a chance to zip around in one of those electric Smart cars this weekend. You'll get free coffee from Groundworks, nibble on brunchable snacks from Top Chef's CJ Jacobson (Monday, April 22) and Lee Anne Wong (Wednesday, April 24), see fashion shows and live concerts. Events take place April 19-28.

Eco Beer Crawl at Santa Monica Pier
As a part of the Blue Green Earth Day Party - beach clean-up, green market swap, eco-conscious vendors and more - Golden Road will unveil its new Heal the Bay IPA, which proceeds Heal the Bay's work toward improving SoCal's coastal waters, at an Eco Beer Crawl on Saturday, April 20. Buy a GR bamboo fiber cup for $10 and receive vouchers for pours of any Golden Road brew at Rusty's Surf Ranch, Big Dean's and Santa Monica Pier Seafood from noon to 5 PM.

Wake & Rake at Angel City Brewery
Join the staff and brewers for bagels and beermosas at this Arts District brewery on Saturday, April 20, and then head out to help clean up the neighborhood. After, everyone will convene at another local bar for more do-gooder-day drinking. RSVP by emailing connect@angelcitybrewery.com; 10:30 AM-3 PM (216 S. Alameda St.; 213-622-1261).

Pasadena Earth and Arts Festival
There's a whole day of concerts and activities planned for Pasadena's Armory Center and Memorial Park on Saturday, April 20, including a sustainable wine and beer garden, with Everson Royce, Craftsman Brewing Company and Eagle Rock Brewery pouring wine and beers into fully compostable corn-based cups, plus food from Pita! Pita! and Robin's BBQ. Save the planet and take the train: The park is right off the Memorial Park Metro Gold Line stop. 11 AM-5 PM (145 N. Raymond Ave.).

Eco Burgers at STK
From April 22-28, get the vegetarian chickpea and quinoa "I AM ECO-burger" sliders ($12) for dinner at this West Hollywood steakhouse and proceeds will go to the Captain Planet Foundation (755 N. La Cienega Blvd.; 310-659-3535).

Earth Month Menu at Ray’s and Stark Bar
A three-course garden menu showcasing vegetables and herbs grown at the LACMA restaurant's garden is available throughout the month of April. Dishes might include a pig's ear salad with kale, mustard greens, horseradish vinaigrette and marinated beets; ricotta gnocchi with Ray's garden pea greens, snap peas and bianco sardo; and rose geranium panna cotta. Wash it down with the Earth Day Collins made with Aviation gin, lavender-basil syrup, lemon and soda water. The menu ($35) is available for lunch and dinner (5905 Wilshire Blvd.; 323-857-6197).
