Tesco Buys Child-Friendly Restaurant Chain Giraffe

Following their investment in artisan coffee shop Harris + Hoole, Tesco, the supermarket chain at the centre of the horsemeat scandal, has paid £50 million to buy 100% of Giraffe, the child-friendly restaurant group currently with 48 outlets in the UK.

The acquisition means we are likely to see more Giraffe restaurants in, or near, Tesco's larger UK stores in the coming future. The original founders Russel and Juliett Joffe have sold their combined stake but will stay on with the company along with the rest of the management team.
