Pig Out at Cochon 555 at the Newseum

Annual pig fest Cochon 555 will be happening on April 7 at the Newseum, where five top area chefs, Mike Isabella (Graffiato), Haidar Karoum (Proof, Estadio), Kyle Bailey (Birch and Barley), Jeffrey Buben (Vidalia, Bistro Bis) and Bryan Voltaggio (Range, Volt) will be competing for Prince of Pork honors.

Each chef will create all manner of delectable dishes from a heritage pig - desserts included - with the results served to guests at this buzzing, walk-around tasting event. Five family-owned wineries will provide pours to match the fare. Beer, cider, bourbons, mescal and more will keep spirits soaring. And, just in case anyone is still hungry, a whole hog, cooked BBQ style, will be served just prior to the award ceremony (555 Pennsylvania Ave. NW; 5 PM; $125, $200, VIP ; for tickets and details, go here).
