| Leaving Las Vegas... |
Yesterday Piero Selvaggio confirmed that Valentino
will be leaving the Las Vegas desert this June. "The Venetian decided not to renew our lease in the summer and eventually go with a celebrity chef concept," he told us. Rumor has it that it may or may not be a Daniel Boulud restaurant, who hasn't had a showing in Vegas since he shuttered his Daniel Boulud Brasserie at the Wynn in 2010.
As for Luciano Pellegrini, the James Beard Award-winning chef who's worked with Selvaggio since the 80s, and has been right-hand man in Vegas since 1999, is staying on till June but "is going to do some other projects," Selvaggio says. Of course the original Valentino in Santa Monica,
40-years-strong, isn't going anywhere any time soon.
