Pierro Selvaggio's Leaving Las Vegas, Closing Valentino at The Venetian

Leaving Las Vegas...
Yesterday Piero Selvaggio confirmed that Valentino will be leaving the Las Vegas desert this June. "The Venetian decided not to renew our lease in the summer and eventually go with a celebrity chef concept," he told us. Rumor has it that it may or may not be a Daniel Boulud restaurant, who hasn't had a showing in Vegas since he shuttered his Daniel Boulud Brasserie at the Wynn in 2010.

As for Luciano Pellegrini, the James Beard Award-winning chef who's worked with Selvaggio since the 80s, and has been right-hand man in Vegas since 1999, is staying on till June but "is going to do some other projects," Selvaggio says. Of course the original Valentino in Santa Monica, 40-years-strong, isn't going anywhere any time soon.
