Pizzeria Vetri isn’t the only forthcoming parlor to tease test pics this week. Joe Beddia is gearing up to open Pizzeria Beddia on Girard Avenue in Fishtown soon, and he’s been playing around with different creations from his brick-lined deck oven. The pie shown above looks delicious, but sounds even better. On top of his carefully tended dough is tomato sauce, sopressata, pickled chiles, basil, Parmesan and both fresh and dry mozzarella.
Beddia is a pizza aficionado - his Twitter handle is @pizzacamp - and has spent time manning the ovens at both Zavino and Osteria, so the chances of great pies coming from his hands are high. Thanks to that photo, we’re looking forward to Pizzeria Beddia’s opening more than ever.
