Speaking of green food of the non-St. Patrick's Day variety, we forgot about the most wonderful green tortillas at Rocio's Mole de los Dioses, one of those places you want to go out of your way for. We stumbled upon it after a sofa hunt in Sun Valley, and the deeply hued rich, flavorful mole really is pretty incredible. But the tortillas, noted as being some of the "best" by the LA Weekly, are made daily and always green. Why? They're made with nopalitos, or prickly pear cactus, wich doesn't really impart much flavor but we do love how they look with a big bowl of fresh guacamole.
