Photo of the Day: Game of Thrones Beer is Coming

Winter is coming, wait, no it’s not. It is approaching, with some sword-wielding zombies, on the new season of Game of Thrones, premiering on HBO on March 31. Before that happens, pregame with some beer and pig at Emporium. Not just any beer, a Game of Thrones inspired beer brewed with the tears of the Stark family and the blood of direwolves. Just kidding, it’s a Belgian blonde ale brewed by Brewery Ommegang with Styrian, Golding, Hallertau and Noble hops. Iron Throne blonde ale will be served with a whole hog roasted by Frontier. The tapping takes place on March 29 at 5:30 PM and the pig is free to the 100 guests. The beer will remain on tap after the event and is scheduled to be released nationwide by the end of March.
