Peached Tortilla's Award-Winning Burger; Plans to Go Brick and Mortar

The Peached Tortilla has been having a great month: the food trailer hung out at Paul Qui's SouthBites food park during SXSW and was sponsored by Hannibal, and Austin Monthly called the JapaJam burger one of the best in Austin in its March issue. Today owner Eric Silverstein talks about possible plans to go brick and mortar with CultureMap Austin. Turns out the truck almost had a location on South Lamar but it fell through. Silverstein and his team are jumping on the South Lamar and South First bandwagon and looking for other spaces in the area. He says the restaurant will be more Peached Tortilla (yay!) and less Yume Burger (boo!).

CultureMap also discusses tonight’s return of Trailer Food Tuesdays at the Long Center, which will feature an out-of-town truck each week. This time it’s Easy Slider from Dallas as well as a bevy of homegrown Austin trailers. Check it out from 5:00-9:00 tonight.
