Our Austin: Casa de Luz

To celebrate our new Austin blog, we're highlighting the must-try spots for every Austinite (and visitor!) in the "Our Austin" series. Check for 'em every day to discover tried-and-true Austin locales that you may know well or may find for the first time!

Walking the tree-speckled, serene path through the yoga and meditation center to the city’s only macrobiotic restaurant gets you in the mood to relax. Once inside, you’ll be treated to a daily, all-organic vegan meal: usually a chunky vegetable soup and green salad with addictively creamy dressing, as well as a full plate of brown rice or quinoa, beans or legumes, a vegetable stir-fry, homemade kimchi and kale with a nutty sauce on top.

Casa has almost closed dozens of times due to parking restrictions and city politics, but the Austin staple has persevered and continues to serve healthy, gluten-free mindful food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
