Micah Wexler Pops Up at The Residency at Umamicatessen

We're pretty psyched to hear that chef Micah Wexler, a 30 Under 30 alum whose Mezze closed on La Cienega late last year, is back on the scene, even if it's in pop-up form. Wexler along with Mezze partner Mike Kassar will launch The Residencey, a new rotating culinary series, at Umamicatessen on Thursday, March 14. The two will take over one of the "kiosks" (our guess is the deli or coffee space since Spring for Coffee moved on) into a "live chef's table," which will serve only 12 people per seating.

Wexler's menu is titled "Live and Dine in LA," featuring dishes that explore the neighborhoods, cultures and time periods around the Southlan. It changes every week - we saw pig's head tacos and deconstructed banana cream pie floating around social media already, so you see where he's going - and priced $45 per person with wine optional wine pairings. Wexler's looking at a 10-week run for now, and additional chefs will be announced soon, but there are hints at Spanish cuisine, steaks and barbecue. Call the restaurant for seating times and reservations (213-413-8626) for reservation and seating times.
