Los Angeles Dining Deals and Events, March 4-10

Enjoy that extra Daylight Savings Hour outside this weekend
Try out the new weekly prix fixe menus at Hungry Cat Santa Monica. The three-coursers are available Monday through Friday and change every week. Tonight you'll get winter citrus with avocado, beets and green goddess dressing; grilled boudin blanc with white beans and braised cabbage; and baked apples with candied walnuts and cinnamon butter ($40). The regular menu is also available (100 W. Channel Rd.; 310-459-3337).

Celebrate the second anniversary of Ray's & Stark Bar tonight when chef Kris Morningstar will be cooking paella on the patio, plus offering a special tapas menu in the bar. A plate of paella and the special cocktail of the night - a flaming coffee drink - is $22 per person. The bar menu (Jamon Iberico, house-smoked chorizo, sherried chicken wings and papas con cabrales) is à la carte. Make sure to check out the "secret" silverware drawers at the dining room tables for hidden gifts (5905 Wilshire Blvd.; 323-857-6197).

Sprinkles joins the Taste group at Figat7th in Downtown LA today, and will be giving away Golden Tickets (aka $100 gift cards) to commemorate the debut. They're baked in the cupcakes so you'll have to eat a few...dozen...to win (725 S. Figueroa St.).

Stop at any Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to try the new "tea cappuccinos" this week. Not to be confused with tea lattes, these concoctions made with chai, Scottish Breakfast and the 50th Anniversary tea blends, milk foam and vanilla bean syrup will be only $1 today from noon to 6 PM at most locations.

Innovative Dining Group might be touting its newest RivaBella and forthcoming Chi Lin, but its heart is always with its original baby - Sushi Roku. The restaurant celebrates 16 years all month long with a Sweet 16 menu, where dishes like American kobe beef potstickers, tuna tartare with caviar and wasabi root, and lychee martinis are $8 and under. Go in, order up and you'll automatically be entered to win an omakase dinner for four (8445 W 3rd St.; 323-655-6767).

Rough week? Cleanse everything away by hitting one of the new juice bars in Beverly Hills. Greenleaf  recently added a juice bar for fresh-squeezed "pure" orange, carrot and tomato juices, plus blends like the Sangria-licious made with apple, grape, celery, mint and lemon. And if that's not enough, the ever-expanding Pressed Juicery is now open, too.

Daylight Savings Time means we sprung forward today, which means an extra hour of sunlight every day. Yay longer days! The best way to celebrate - get outside. Nibble and sip away the afternoon on a lovely garden patio or a rooftop bar.
