LA Weekend Planner: Pit Beef at Hungry Cat, Tea at Mignon, Free Danish

Thanks for eight uni-filled years, Hungry Cat!
Eat This
David Lentz may have survived eight years of fresh uni, clams, lobster rolls and Pug burgers in Hollywood, but his heart will always be in Maryland. On Friday (Mar. 8), celebrate the original Hungry Cat's anniversary with Baltimore-style pit beef sandwiches (delicious!), grilled oysters, a beer station and $8 drink specials by guest bartenders. The full raw bar and regular menu will also be available 5:30-11 PM (1535 Vine St.; 323-462-2155).

Drink This
You know Mignon is a good spot for a biodynamic and Old World wines, but how about tea? Stop in the diminutive Historic Core wine bar on Saturday for afternoon tea with Mariage Freres tea, dainty finger sandwiches and cakes. This makes sense for owner and recent 30 Under 30 winner, Santos Uy, who does ballet every week. How civilized! For those just looking for a buzz, the wine list is also available. Takes place every week from 3-6 PM (128 .E 6th St.; 213-489-0131).

Danish This
Stop by Culver City's Copenhagen Pastry on Sunday (Mar. 10) for a Danish breakfast party. Sample the bakery's fresh morning rolls, poppy twists, coffee bread, and rye bread served with Danish Lupak butter, Haarti cheese and Daish jams, plus coffee and juice. All gratis. You'll find the event in the parking lot from 10 AM to 1 PM (1113 Washington Blvd.; 310-839-8900).
