Kaspar's Seafood Bar and Grill Launches in The Savoy

Is the Savoy - one of London's oldest hotels - moving with the times? Opening on May 2 is Kaspar's Seafood Bar and Grill - a more casual, all-day restaurant that will also welcome children with a mini menu.

While the art deco-inspired space will stay true to the roots of the hotel, the 'simple and approachable menu' created by head chef James Pare will feature everything from a lobster club sandwich, dover sole with brown butter caper sauce and smoked salmon sausage with trusted favourites like apple tarte tartin or vanilla rice pudding for dessert.

The restaurant is named after Kaspar - a three-foot-high black cat sculpture created in 1926 - that for almost 90 years has been sent to join unlucky tables with 13 people with a napkin around his neck and full place setting. You can't be too careful.
