Joe Coffee Sets Opening Date for Rittenhouse Square Cafe

NYC cafe darling Joe Coffee has set a date for its first-ever launch outside of that city. The Walnut Street shop will open on Tuesday, April 2, offering coffee made from house-brand beans, roasted in New York. La Marzocco Strada-pulled espresso beverages will be made with Black Cat beans from Intelligentsia Coffee.

Along with the namesake drink, the 27-seat cafe will offer tea and a range of baked goods, including pastries from Lila Colello’s Brûlée Bakery and custom Joe Coffee treats produced by Brooklyn’s Ovenly. In addition to the standing espresso bar and tables in the store, look for a dozen seats outside and 20 seats in the lobby of 1845 Walnut Street, the office building across from the square that houses the cafe.

We’ll have more details and photos for you soon, but if the Joe Coffee hype from the north is correct, this is something to get excited about. Watch out, La Colombe?
