James Beard Award Finalists Announced Today

The 2013 James Beard Awards finalists were just announced live in Charleston, SC. Here's some of the heavy-hitting categories below but you check out the full list of nominees here. Big props to Zagat 30 Under 30 honorees Danny Bowien, Thomas McNaugton and Melissa Chou who were nominated today. The James Beard Awards will go down on May 6 at NYC's Avery Fisher Hall.

Best Chef NYC: April Bloomfield, Wylie Dufresne, Mark Ladner, Jonathan Waxman, Michael White  

Outstanding Restaurant: August, Blue Hill, Highlands Bar and Grill, The Slanted Door, Spiaggia 

Outstanding Chef: Sean Brock, David Chang, Gary Danko, Suzanne Goin, Paul Kahan, Nancy Silverton
