Hot Chocolate, the dessert-driven restaurant helmed by master pastry chef Mindy Segal, is getting a new executive chef. His name is Dennis Stover and resume includes The Publican, Big Star, Longman & Eagle and Vie…not too shabby. Now he takes over the savory side of the kitchen while Segal continues to rock the sweets. Menu staples such as the house burger will remain intact, but he'll slowly incorporate new additions over the next few months. Dishes will include seared arctic char with marinated kale, roasted sunchokes and brown butter vinaigrette as well as the lamb neck sugo with coddled egg, soffrito and garlic croutons. It may be time for a trip to Hot Chocolate without skipping straight to dessert.
