Right on schedule, the Bernal Heights newcomer
Hillside Supper Club has launched its
anticipated weekend brunch service and it looks good. As we mentioned, the a la carte
menu showcases some of the owners' unique hometown regional delicacies such as goetta, a German-style breakfast sausage that’s popular in Ferrari’s native Cincinnati and a frittata topped with chicagoaji, a hot sauce made with chipotle and coji berries that's popular on Lopez Island. Other tantalizing options include savory bread pudding with fried eggs and greens, brioche French toast, sheep milk yogurt with granola, fresh fruit and sunflower seeds and plenty of fresh brewed Mr. Espresso. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-2PM and it's first-come, first-serve for groups of six or less. Do note: we just got confirmation that the restaurant will be open on Easter Sunday (serving its regular a la carte menu) making it the 11th
hip spot serving brunch on that day.
