Guy Fieri Digs The Golden State Lamb Burger and Pulled Pork

If you haven't been to The Golden State to try the burger yet - the best one in town, according to the 2013 Los Angeles Restaurants guide - you may have missed the window. Well, that open window when you can stumble in and grab a burger and a beer without having to wait in line or fight for a table. Because last night the Fairfax restaurant and owners Jason Bernstein and James Starr were featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, and Guy Fieri went bonkers for both the lamb burger and spicy pulled pork sandwich (as he should). The small space will never be empty again.

No matter what you think about the beach-blonde tips, the stupid glasses hanging on the back of his neck or Donkey Sauce, Fieri has a golden touch for small businesses featured on his show. Andre Guerrero once told us that every time the episode airs featuring The Oinkster, his slow-fast food restaurant in Eagle Rock, they get a mad-rush of business. And that was filmed years ago. So now that the Golden State will be in the heavy DDD rotation, we'll try to skirt the rush. Or maybe try for Texas barbecue at Bernstein and Starr's newest baby, Bludso's Bar & Que.
