Stew with a view: Take in an Irish beef stew or the infamous corned beef and cabbage at 75 on Liberty Wharf overlooking Boston harbor; add a Leprechaun Martini (Bully Boy vodka, muddled basil, agave nectar, and lime juice) and you’ll be sailing (entrees are $18-$20; 617-227-0754).
Party Hearty: The Beehive in the South End is putting on its 6th annual St. Patrick’s Day party on Sunday, complete with Boston-based Irish musicians, special whiskey drinks and Irish treats a la carte, such as corned beef & “cabbage” flatbread with sauerkraut and cheese; smoked fish & chips with malt vinegar aioli; and grilled lamb chops with colcannon mashed potatoes. No-Nonsense Irish: We love Matt Murphy’s Pub in Brookline Village for the no-fuss but over-crowded rowdy fun you get just by being there on St. Patty’s Day; on Sunday, they’ll serve up specials like bacon and cabbage (OK, we’re getting that bacon is it, not corned beef) and bangers and mash, each under $15. Or come just for the Guinness; you wont’ be disappointed (617-232-0188).
Erin Go Sweet: Green Briar in Brighton is celebrating with lots of good stuff, including a special dessert - a “Three Leaf Clover” chocolate bread pudding made with Jameson, Bailey’s and Guinness, topped with vanilla ice cream. Could be dinner AND dessert (617-789-4100).
Freebie Bites: The Irish Village in Brighton is doling out free corned beef and cabbage sandwiches all day Sunday; but stick around 'cause you'll want to catch authentic tunes from Finbar Doyle (5-8 PM). Don't forget the Guinness (617-787-5427).
Green Liquids: Dbar in Dorchester gets right to the point, offering $3 green beer starting at 11 AM (while it lasts) and a menu with a French twist (go figure, rather than go bragh; 617-265-4490). You can also pop by Green Briar not only for dessert but for a dandy Green Monstah (pictured above), a concoction that includes Pinnacle whipped cream vodka, Kahlua and creme de menthe, thanks to bar keep Laura Grealish (617-789-4100).
