| Armstrong at the stoves |
According to Daily Dish, you'll find low-country-inspired dishes like Dungeness crab soup with savory benne wafer, California quail with cornmeal dumplings and greens, and rainbow trout with peanut and black-eyed-pea hummus and Brussels sprout slaw. And lest you think this is just another small-plates endeavor, Armstrong has family-style platters of shellfish and grits, whole currie oxtail and grilled plantains, and hickory-smoked sirloin cap.
The restaurant currently serves dinner from 6-10 PM on Tuesdays through Thursdays, and till 11 PM on Friday and Saturdays. There's happy hour, including $5 beer, wine and well cocktails, from 4-6 PM. No food menu for that yet, but bar snacks plus brunch and lunch will launch very soon (1031 Abbot Kinney Blvd.; 310-392-2425).
