First Look: Cherrywood Kitchen, Opening This Weekend In West SoHo

The West side of SoHo is getting a new restaurant this weekend in the form of Cherrywood Kitchen, which is soft opening on the far end of Spring Street. The menu features New American fare from chef Chris Cheung, who comes from stints in the kitchens of Jean-Georges and Nobu. The secret weapon behind the rustic grub is the kitchen's smoker, which was custom made for the venue and will be used to impart the flavors of cherrywood into the meats and other dishes. Think dishes like hot cherrywood-smoked ribs and a smoked chicken with spring vegetables and ham hock relish.

The mid-sized dining room has space for 54, while a 20-seat bar will serve beverages like a margarita with Hornitos, lime and cherry puree. The space used to house Sore Lella. Get more info here (300 Spring St.; 646-559-2328).
