|Allan Rodriguez in Mexico|
The news is already out, but we have a few more deets on the new project by Allan Rodriguez, the chef-owner of El Centro Mexican restaurant in the South End. A second location will be opening at 263 Washington St. in Brookline Village sometime next month.
El Centro Dos will reflect Rodriguez’s philosophy of keeping the food and space authentic. The decor includes artwork and photographs he’s collected in Mexico, and the menu is created with most of the ingredients imported from Mexico. The authentic fare reflects the kind of dishes Rodriguez grew up with in his home state of Hermosillo, Mexico. Among the entrees offered will be carne asada (charcoal steak, Sonora style), pollo al chipotle (chipotle chicken), and camarones papantla (shrimp wrapped in bacon).
El Centro Dos will have a full liquor license, with margaritas and sangria being main stays of a creative cocktail list along with Mexican beers.
It will be open for lunch Monday through Friday, dinner seven days and brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
