DTLA's Towne Food & Drink Shutters
It seemed like an ambitious project for sure, but the less-than-a-year-old Towne Food + Drink has officially called it quits. We heard mumblings about this a few months ago when the managing partner left, and apparently owner Armen Shirvanian, who also owns Mi Piace in Pasadena, sold his stake in November. According to the LA Downtown News, there's a sign that the restaurant is now closed for renovations on the 200-seat space, and general manager Eric Anderson said the restaurant stopped serving about a month ago. According to reps from the Watermark Tower, the building where it lives and which owns a stake in the restaurant, something else will reopen with new ownership, a new name and a new chef in a few months. Guess we'll have to find our Twinkie knockoffs somewhere else.
