Carla Hall Dishes Up Comfort Food With Hugs
Join chef/author Carla Hall on Sunday March 10 for a five-course lunch prepared from recipes in her new cookbook, “Cooking with Love.” The menu includes dishes she made on Top Chef, including the “Swamp Thing” - braised pork shoulder in pork and corn broth with collards and sweet potatoes - and groundnut stew.
Exuberant Carla will demonstrate recipes from the cookbook that update Southern comfort classics. She’ll share kitchen tips, and tell tales about her Top Chef experience, and working on ABC TV’s The Chew. Copies of the cookbook will be available for purchase, and she will sign them. The luncheon, sponsored by Les Dames d’Escoffier, a charitable organization for women food professionals, will take place at CulinAerie from noon-2 PM ($85; go here for reservations; 1131 14 St. NW; 202-587-5674).
